Worried that strangers on the subway can read what you're writing? Private Writer covers your short text, so you can write without people reading your sentences!
Private Writer is a free app with ad support, but they are not too intrusive. The interface is similar to a Twitter message writer, except that by default the text area shows what you are writing incredibly faintly. There is a Show/Hide button, which does what you'd expect.
Once you have written your text - and this is only really usable if you're a pretty accurate typist - hitting export allows you to copy it to the clipboard, or go direct to the iPhone's SMS or email apps, as well as Facebook and Twitter. It's worth noting that once you export, your text will appear on screen for anyone who's looking to see, so beware...
Private Writer is a neat idea that can save you blushes when you're texting about the people near you - though if they do look they might wonder what you've got to hide!
